The Moon From Euterpe and St. Charles

Moon at Euterpe and St. CharlesMy knee was feeling so, so much better this evening, I think because of yoga.  My body may have just needed a streeetching out.  So when friends called to go dancing in Mid-City, I happily hopped on Rhoda and headed out.  I ended up stopping in the Quarter for a few drinks with friends first.  By the time I got there I was covered in sweat, even though it didn’t seem too terribly hot when I headed out.  There’s something to this whole humidity thing.  Then I tooled over to see Gal Holiday in Mid-City.  Man, I could dance to her for hours.  After another stop for some pool and a dog walk through the Treme I was riding home.  I stopped to snap this picture of the moon at Euterpe and St. Charles.  It’s almost full, and I just love how bright it is in the sky.  I could use it to guide me home, but fortunately I bring my own lights.  It was simply delightful riding all over this city tonight.  The streets were virtually empty by the time I left the Treme, and I loved that feeling of freedom, of zipping through the heavy air, skirt flying, under a moon that’s both just for me, and for all the rest of y’all, too.  Yep, it’s summertime in New Orleans, and I’m going by bike.
