I spent the day in my neighborhood doing some writing and thinking about after I finished my writing and could get on my bike. My legs were so tired after the weekend that I was a little nervous the ride today would be work instead of play, but I was lucky and found the pedals spinning just fine as I headed Uptown to the office. I headed downtown afterward to hit the gym and then over to the Treme where J. was making his magic tacos. The evening air was cool and breezy and the sky was a pale blue streaked with clouds: a perfect late afternoon for a ride. I stopped to take a picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on N. Rampart. The church is in beautiful shape, except for the cross on top that’s slightly askew. It’s like something always has to be just a little bit off around here, but maybe that’s what it’s like everywhere. Tonight this was the part that was a little off, but looking at this picture again I see it doesn’t look that off from the front. I guess “off” depends on your perspective anyway.
Wabi-sabi!
