I’ve been off the bike for a few days due to a bit of a cold, but I had to pedal a little today. I’d planned a long ride, but then I got a call from A. B. had called her with two 50-yard line seats to the Saints-Giants game–could I be ready in ten minutes. Oh, yeah. I’ve never been to an NFL game, though I’ve watched football all my life. A. picked me up on her scooter, which we parked in between some bicycles over by the Superdome. I can’t believe people drive to the Superdome–parking! Traffic! But because I wasn’t on the bike, we didn’t escape the traffic. What would have taken 15 minutes on a bike took an hour on scooter. But it was worth it, without a doubt. After I got dropped home (thanks, A.!) I hopped on my bike and headed down to Lafayette Square for the Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival. Yeah, life is rough in New Orleans in the fall. I snapped this picture of T-Model Ford jamming out as I danced in the cool weather (yes, it was cool). Then S. and R. and I rode our bicycles over for a drink followed by pizza delivered and then a walk to the river. I rode home, reminded again what a lovely place this is to live, and how good it will feel to actually have this cold over with for good so I can enjoy it all again, by bike.
Oh man. Your life.
